11-11-1997:

Nokia Communicator

The start of a new era came with Nokia's release of the world's first ever smartphone with internet. Undersigned is so proud to be one of the people who owned this innovative product in late 1998 thanks to my dear friend Patrick who thought it was too bulky for him and gave it to me! Nokia has always been, and will for a long time after today be the most innovative mobile phone maker in the world.

Last quarter 2014:

Apple iPhone 7 / 7s

Apple is known for keeping future versions of its products (especially the iPhone) a closely guarded secret.  Is it possible to predict what the iPhone 7, or even the iPhone 8 might be like? By using the science of tech trends, we could know a lot about future iPhone versions yet to be developed.
For sure the iPhone 7 . iPhone 7s will be faster, have more internal memory and a more powerful processor. But what else could we expect to see happening? 5G mobile internet is one thing we can be sure of having, already in the iPhone 6. I’ve been graphing the predictable progress of bandwidth, storage and processing power for thirty years and I can assure you we’re just at a starting point really. Overall 3D screen representation will also be a new standard. Siri will become even more intelligent and human-like. Trans-lucent screens, less case and more glass. Wireless charging (starting with Qi in the iPhone 7 and probably in the iPhone 8 already being upgraded to Qi2) will enable us to charge automatically while shopping or just being around our house. There are only so many things we can predict with an acceptable probability, and we know Apple is inventive and creative so it’s definately just a small grab of it all. Wait and see is the only thing we can really do.
